As we age our bodies change and so does our heath care needs. Older adults require specialized medical care to address the normal changes that come with aging as well as complex health problems and challenges that develop. Our physicians are board-certified geriatricians who are committed to listening to patients’ concerns and providing patient-centered care in a state-of-the-art facility.
The following geriatric services are currently offered by the division of geriatric medicine.
UF Health Senior Care – Springhill
We offer understanding, compassionate and knowledgeable care to our patients, their families and caregivers. Our office is located in an updated facility with all the conveniences including free parking, on-site pharmacy and lab draw station. Services include primary care and specialty evaluation for problems such as incontinence, memory disorders, frailty, difficulty walking and falls, medication management and dietary supplements.
Oak Hammock at the University of Florida
We provide medical care and direction at Oak Hammock at the University of Florida. Oak Hammock is an innovative community providing long-term care in private, high-quality accommodations in assisted living, memory care and long-term skilled nursing.
Geriatrics Consultation Services at UF Health Shands Hospital
We work with the admitting service to address the special needs of older patients in the hospital including preventing and treating delirium, assessing and treating dementia, and reviewing medications to avoid polypharmacy.
