About Candace A Worsham

My name is Dr. Worsham, and I am a clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Geriatric Medicine. As a child, I was inspired to become a physician by my own physicians and their welcoming health care environment, and I strive to provide this for my patients every day. My specialty is in geriatric medicine, which I was drawn toward because I believe in patient autonomy and giving everyone the tools they need to decide what quality of life they want. My goal is to learn about each patient and their family, while being an advocate for their needs and wishes.

I graduated with my bachelor’s in biology from UF in 2012 and earned my medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, in the West Indies in 2016. My residency in internal medicine was completed at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and my fellowship in geriatric medicine was completed at the UF College of Medicine.

Being board-certified in internal medicine, I can diagnose and treat general conditions in the fields of cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, oncology, pulmonology, rheumatology and urology.

In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching tennis, movies and shows. Being a UF graduate, I bleed orange and blue – Go Gators! I love watching Florida Gators sports and am a football season ticket holder. I am also a huge animal lover and have a cat whom I adore! Her name is Liberty, but I call her Libby.
